Andorra Eagle coins were first introduced in 2009 and are issued by the Bavarian Mint in collaboration with the Principality of Andorra. This series also minted the first gold coin weighing just 1 gram. This quarter Troy Ounce version has a weight of 7.77 grams and a diameter of 20.10 mm and a thickness of 0.8 millimeters . Andorra Eagles are made from the purest 24 - karat gold. That is to say that the gold has the highest a purity of 999.9 / 1000.

The Andorra Eagle 1/4 Ounce Troy has the same design as the other Eagles in the Andorra series. The front of the coin displays an eagle with its wings spread and perched on a rock. Below this the nominal value of the currency is expressed in Diner . The Diner is an artificial currency unit and has never been used as legal tender in Andorra. Before the introduction of the euro coin, Andorra used the currency of its two neighbours, France and Spain, for daily transactions. The reverse of the coin is decorated with Andorra’s coat of arms.
