Design of the 1 Oz Australia Nugget - Golden Eagle 2021
As the name suggests, this silver coin has been inspired by a very special gold nugget. The Golden Eagle was, in fact, the largest gold nugget to have ever been found in Western Australia and it was discovered by a 17-year-old boy in 1931. The nugget weighed a whopping 35 kilos. In addition to an illustration of the nugget in question, the coin also reveals information regarding the weight and purity of the silver coin together with the text “Golden Eagle 1931”. The reverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, head of the British Commonwealth.
