Design of the silver 1 Oz Lunar Rooster 2017 coin
The Lunar silver coin series is annually issued by Australia’s Perth Mint and is known for its exceptionally designed coins. The series is inspired by symbols from the Chinese zodiac in which each year of a 12-year cycle is represented by a different creature. In 2017 the design of the coin features the tenth sign of the cycle: the rooster. The silver coin shows a rooster, a hen and three chicks. This image in accompanied by the text “Year of the Rooster” written below.
