The one Troy Ounce silver Somalia Elephant is part of the African Wildlife series and is minted by German manufacturer, Bavarian State Mint, which has been in the minting business for over 800 years. The coin is a tribute to the African landscape and has therefore been designed to depict a very African scene: a family of elephants roaming the plains. Two strong adult Elephants can be seen shielding the young elephant between them. The reverse of the coin holds the shield of Somalia which is a crowned coat of arms with a leopard on each side.
